Keep this in mind while voting:
- There was no kissing in the movie to prove this statement. There also wasn't hugging, or anything of that sort.
My feelings on the Subject:
A love/hate relationship means Friendship. My parents told me. They tollerate each other. They could talk to each other and look like they are fiends. But other times, they could be like fighting and look like worst enemies. Love/Hate basically means being friends. Not having a Sexual, Romantic love for one another. Like me and my one friend are frienamies. Love/Hate relation ship is just like Frienamies in my opinion. Its like that with me and my friend Rebecca. We look like we are the best of friends one second, then we could start fighting like nut-jobs. So me and Rebecca are like Coraline and Wybie, We can tolerate each other, but we aren't the closest of friends.

While I'd say they weren't quite 'frenamies' as you would put it. I could see them being very close friends after a while, they only meet a few times in the movie, not long enough to develop a good friendship, and by the end of the movie we can see what looks like the beginning of a stronger friendship, so I think the love/hate is true until the end, by then they seem to be starting to get closer as friends. HAD the movie gone on I think they could be really close friends.
Also did you notice how in the scene where she meets other Wybie she mentioned that Wybie said something about Mr.Bobinsky, we didn't SEE them talk about Bobinsky. which makes one wonder how many times they might have met that we didn't see? I always thought that was interesting!
This response only goes as deep as the movie-vers, as far as what happens in the movie, I like to imagine what would happen with them as time went on beyond that, because it's interesting going deeper into the world and taking it farther than the movie went.

It's also funny how, in the Selick commentary for the movie.
He mentions something about Bobinsky hurling potatoes at Wybie, something that was a concept that could have happened but didn't (my gosh I would have LOVED to see that happen XD)
But it makes you wonder, was Wybie and Mr.B supposed to have some kind of problem with each other? Did Wybie do something before Coraline ever moved in that set Mr.B against him? It's interesting to think about!

I just think that Wybie seems to have a little crush on Coraline.
If not in the movie I wouldn't rule out him having one ever. She's the only girl he's probably EVER spoken to to any extent. he's bound to have a little kid-crush. Mind you Wybie is older than Coraline, he's said to be 12 by most people, so him having a crush and her being like "lol no." Makes sense! ^^
EDIT:: The Wiki things says he's 11...Who changed that I wonder D: It used to say he was 12...Well I still hold true to that >:3 |
