That is definitely messed up! D:< they also don't like this one show I really like called Edgar & Ellen (dunno if anyone's heard of it), because their dad said "they're mean to each other." well, that's what brothers and sisters do, they fight (Edgar and Ellen are brother and sister-twins, in fact) so annoying. Yeah i've seen it! And your right, It is what brother's and sister's do! < If they where perfect and got along all the time, it would be boring!

I just think people should lighten up and not worry that it doesn't follow the book. and to just enjoy the movie.

WOW, yeah THIS is why I fear religion. I really IS just a movie., and such a WONDERFUL one at that! D8>
But I guess we gotta respect how they were raised, although to me its a little illogical when it aint hurting ANYONE!
And yes, I read the book actually AFTER i watched the movie, and I also saw that comparison. It usually happens to me that I end up liking the BOOK better. This is the FIRST time I like the MOVIE better!!! <3 It just really pops up, and while the book has a much more dark and sutle mystery kind of plot, the movie just adds SO MUCH MORE LIFE to the story! The characters are so vibrant and great! But I REALLY saw the comparison when I read the illustrate version of the original book. Read it and PRETEND you've NEVER seen the movie. It was a BIG difference, a totally new experience with the plot, and ALOT darker and creepier. WITHOUT comparing, I loved the book! Comparing it NOT unfairly but critically, I really DO like the movie better! So yeah I totally agree!! XD

In my opinion I think the movie was better than the book, but I enjoyed both equally. I also enjoy having Wybie as a character too, it doesn't bother me at all because I too understand the purpose.
Henry Selick did a wonderful job, and so did Neil Gaiman, let us respect and applaud their work instead of trash it.
P.S. Very good thread topic.
